Total Praise ~ The New WVMC July 1, 2013!

Why a NEW WVMC?

WVMC has served North Central Ohio since 1979 and was the first Christian radio station in Mansfield.  Since 2004, WVMC has worked with Way FM, a network that provided all of WVMC ‘s personalities and music, except for The Zone.  As of July 1, 2013,  Way FM is suspending their satellite programming and focusing on radio stations they own.

Please understand this choice was made solely by WAY FM, NOT by WVMC or Mansfield Christian School, owner of WVMC.

After praying and weighing options, we have chosen to air a Praise and Worship style of music.  It’s focus is on the songs and choruses you might sing in church.  It’s vertical praise, music that reminds us of our relationship to God, and draws our attention to His name and His love for us.

This change will take place at 6 a.m. on Monday, July 1st.  Before the actual change, we are going to have some fun!  Be listening Friday, June 28th at 3 p.m. for what that is going to be.  It just wouldn't be fun if I told you EVERYTHING!

I know you may have questions. Here are a few you may have:

Why is July 1st the start date?
It’s the date selected by the Way FM network.

Why did you chose Praise and Worship music?
It came down to prayer. As we prayed and sought God on this, the phrases Scott kept hearing were “Just praise Me!” and “Just lift Me up!”  Praise and Worship is also the hottest genre of Christian music right now, accounting for about 25% of total Christian music sales, according to the Salem Radio Network.

What’s happening to Wally, Katie Rose, and the rest of the Way FM staff?
Wally, Katie Rose, Zack, Betty Rock, Jeff, Melissa and the rest of the Way FM staff will continue to work for Way FM in Nashville.  We will miss them!

What artists will be on Total Praise the NEW WVMC FM?
You’ll hear a great mix of artists we play now, like Mercy Me, Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, Kristian Stanfill, and Phillips, Craig & Dean.  You’ll also hear artists you haven’t heard on the radio in a while, like Michael W. Smith, Twila Paris, Selah, and Rebecca St. James. You will also hear pioneers in the Praise and Worship music movement, including Don Moen, Passion, Maranatha, and Paul Baloche.  Total Praise, The NEW WVMC FM will be more music driven than ever before, and encourage you to turn to God in worship as you go through your day.

What about my donations to WVMC?
WVMC always has been, and always will be a listener-supported station.  We stay on the air only by the gifts of listeners.  Regardless of format, we cannot make it without you!  Our current Hour Friends and Day Sponsors will remain in place.  You will continue to receive monthly statements and information from WVMC.

What about my business underwriting?
All of our business underwriters are very important to us.  WVMC cannot continue in any format without your support!  Business underwriting will continue as we have done before.  Additional weather sponsors will be opening up, and we continue to offer creative, cost-effective ways your church or business can support WVMC FM.

What about Sharathon?
We will continue to do Sharathon each spring.  As a listener-supported ministry, Sharathon is one of the ways we invite you to partner with us.  You can find out more about how to financially support us by clicking

If you have any other questions please contact WVMC General Manager, Scott Saunders, by sending him an email.

Your Real Life Stories

Judy

Everytime I hear the song "Strong Enough" by Matthew West, the words speak to me. My husband and I have been through 3+ years of tremendous financial challenges, to say the least, and that song has been a HUGE encouragement to me, as I see and experience the way the Lord is bringing us through these really tough times. All to His glory, things are slowly getting better, and looking back, we have seen Him right there through it all, even in those rock-bottom moments (of which there have been plenty) when we struggled to find hope. He is forever faithful and definitely strong enough to handle it all for us because we sure can't handle it on our own! WVMC is on my office radio 8:00 to 5:00 Monday thru Friday - thanks for being a constant source of inspiration to me as I work. You guys are awesome - keep up the good work (God's work)!
