COMMUNITY NEWS

ASHLAND - July 2nd - 5th, 2015 marks the 25th Birthday of one of the areas largest events, Ashland Balloonfest. To celebrate this milestone, the Ashland Balloonfest Committee is seeking help from the public to design a special 25th Birthday logo to be used in conjunction with the current logo. Deadline for Submission is December 15th, 2014.  Click Here for details of the contest and guidelines.

The Logo Contest winner will be announced and the Logo unveiled to the public at an event to be determined.  After the unveiling, the winning design will become the official logo of Ashland Balloonfest 25th Birthday Celebration and will be used on various promotional materials including but not limited to: website, brochures, letterhead, envelopes, banners, signs, posters, and advertisements.  The winning design will be featured in a press release following the unveiling of the Logo.  The winning designer will be awarded a Balloon Glow Encounter with VIP status for the 2015 Celebration.

For more information or questions please contact Misty Miller, PR Chair, Ashland Balloonfest at 419-545-4507 or info@ashlandohioballoonfest.com.

Wooster, Ohio - Wooster Hope Center will be partnering with the College of Wooster's Volunteer Network (WVN) to provide a new service called "Supplies for Teachers Program which we wil begin offering at Cornerstone in 2015 . How this program works is that the Hope Center will stock the top 5 supplies that teachers need (No. 2 pencils, pencil top erasers, clorox wipes, paper towels, and dry erase markers). When the teacher needs more supplies a representative from cornersone will place an order with the Hope Center and we will deliver the order when we deliver the backpacks of food every other week. The WHC and WVN will work togeather to raise money for this new program, as our goal is to add all Wooster City Elementary Schools during the 2015/2016 School Year. There are several ways residents and organizations can help. 1) Purchase and donate supplies from the supply list and drop off at the Wooster Hope Center (445 North Bever St-Basement of 7th Day Adventist Church) on Monday or Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. 2) Donate Monetarily-we will purchase the supplies. All donations are 100% tax deductible. Please mail donations to Wooster Hope Center 342 Nold Ave., Wooster, Ohio 44691 3) Put togeather a Teacher Supply Drive at your church or organization. 4) Help us with a fundraiser.  For more information contact Pastor Richard Frazier at rfrazier@woosterhopecenter.org.
