On September 23rd 2012, Wings to Fly Foundationis proud to present our first annual Day for Angels 5k run and 1.5mi family fun walk. The event will be held at Alum Creek North park on Main Street in Westerville and benefit Angelman Syndrome Research and our Community Outreach and Equipment Exchange programs. Registration can be done at anytime online through Premier Races. Sign up and plan on having a great time! For you hard core runners out there, this is a timed and chipped race. For our families and walk participants, the route is family and special needs friendly, and following the run/walk there will be music, fun, and entertainment for kids of all ages!
Check in on the day of the event will begin at 7:45 AM. The 5k will begin at 9:00 AM, with the walk starting at 9:10 AM. Family fun will begin immediately after the event starts.
Proceeds from this event will benefit Angelman Syndrome Research. Angelman Syndrome (AS) is a neuro-genetic disorder that occurs in one in 15,000 live births. AS is often misdiagnosed as cerebral palsy or autism and characteristics of the disorder include developmental delay, lack of speech, seizures, and walking and balance disorders. Individuals with Angelman syndrome will require life-long care.
