Journey of the Cross
Monday, March 25, 2013 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
Spiritually moving and revealing in its depiction of the Passion of Christ is an effective description of Journey of the Cross, a seasonal exhibit prepared by Mosaic Connection. Through works created by local artists, this display will offer an opportunity to walk in Jesus' footsteps during the final week of His life and will provide a closer look at the price of His sacrifice. Mosaic Connection invites visitors to travel on a spiritual journey through 14 stations representing Christ's moments in the Garden of Gethsemane, through His trial and persecution, and to the cross. The journey concludes in a life-sized likeness of Jesus' tomb, constructed according to information provided by a team of biblical and archaeological historians. Non-denominational, the exhibit involves a varied visual arts media collection along with a moving audio track and offers a beautiful way to prepare our hearts for the celebration of the Resurrection. Journey is open to the public and this year’s venue will be Emanuel Old Stone Church, 6000 Congress Road, Wooster. The exhibit will be set up in the bowels of their 150 year old building which will lend itself nicely to the desired atmosphere. The dates are Holy Week which begins on Palm Sunday (March 24) and goes through Easter Sunday (March31). Hours are Sundays from noon to 4:00p.m.; Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 11:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.; Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 11:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. and 6:00p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Private group times (for Bible studies, youth groups, or others) may be scheduled by contacting Melody Kirby by phone (330-264-0037) or Internet (email@example.com). Kirby suggests that due to the nature of the exhibit, it may not be suitable for younger children.
