Recent studies indicate that 8.5% of American children, ages 8 to 18, are addicted to video gaming. Other studies show that students addicted to video games have lower academic grades than their non-addicted peers. Scott and Tom conclude their discussion of video game addiction, and suggest some warning signs parents can look for. WE STRESS HERE, AND IN THE PROGRAM, THAT WE ARE NOT SAYING ALL VIDEO GAMING OR INTERNET USE IS EVIL. But there are studies and signs that point to some people, children and adults, are addicted to gaming. We discuss two recent news stories from Ohio as examples.

Federal agencies are yet to recognize video game addictions as "addictions", but Tom and Scott discuss the rising number of those caught in this addiction, how it impacts the brain in a very similar way to other addictions, and begin breaking down types, causes and symptoms of video addictions.
